Boudoir sessions are a big deal.
It's outfits. Hair. Makeup. Getting in shape. Shaving your legs and getting a tan. Getting your nails done. Plucking your eyebrows and whitening your teeth.
It's whatever you need to do to feel your best.
And naturally it comes with a lot of questions. So here's my tips on how to get ready for your session to make the most out of it.
First things first you need to know what you want from the session.
Most people say they're doing their session for their man but really it's for themselves, and let me tell you it is amazing to see the confidence a woman walks out of a session with.
But all that aside, do you want subtle and sultry, or a little more Victoria Secret style? Do you want a fitness themed shoot to highlight the progress you've been making? Or do you want to highlight your gorgeous curves? Or do you want to go with a theme, like vintage, or rockabilly?
Knowing what look you're going for sets the whole tone of the photoshoot, from outfits, to location, to hair and make up.
And of course, you don't have to go for only one style, but do keep in mind, that it's going to be hard to switch from natural subtle boudoir to rockabilly in the same session.
The best way to find your tone is to think about who you are. When you get all dressed up is it runway overt glam? Or classic simple sexy? Or do you like to change things up and do vintage styles from time to time?
While it's fun to get into other roles, you'll probably love the session more if it represents who you feel you really are.
