Abshier Family

For the last 6 years I've been taking trips to visit my sister and her family in Chico. It's always a great escape from the rushed pace I tend to maintain in my life, which is kind of ironic considering they have 4 (going on 5) children. But it's calm and peaceful and just wonderful.

I didn't realize how much time has passed -- yes, I see it in the kids and how quickly they grow. But until this year I didn't realize how quickly the past 6 years have gone. In 2012 this moment below just happened, as sweet as can be with Munchkin 1 loving up on mom and soon to be Munchkin 2. So now, six years later, I decided we needed to recreate this pose with Munchkin 4 and The Last Munchkin 5. Crazy to think how quickly another 6 years will pass and how hard it will be to remember there ever was a time before we knew Munchkin 5.

Here's to childhood. The fights and bickering, the tears and heartbreak because someone ate your cracker. All the joys and sorrows you don't realize are so beautiful. Hopefully these photos will help you remember these days forever young munchkins.
