The most disgusting looking thing I've ever loved (other than this face!

)

is also actually pretty healthy for me, and even better -- it's EASY to make. So I decided it should get it's own post.

This is my breakfast most days, and also a common snack because I'm usually too lazy to make anything else. The only real downside about it is that it's only about 150 calories, so it's not sustainable as a meal.

But really, what better way to stave off the urge to snack when you're not actually hungry than this delicious smoothie?!

The ingredients are simple, and the only three constant ones are spinach, banana, and water. Other than that the mixers can be mangos, strawberries, peaches, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries or whatever fits your mood.

I prefer peaches and blueberries more for the consistency than the taste -- I hate seeds in my smoothies that come from strawberries and others.

The key is a LOT of spinach. At least two big handfuls and I always use fresh. I get a bag from Costco which helps when you make as many smoothies as I do. It usually makes the smoothie look green-brown, though today I clearly didn't use enough because the color of the final smoothie was actually pretty appetizing.

For the other berries I always use frozen to make the smoothie super cold.

I use about a half of peach and one whole brandy snifter of blueberries (because what else would I use my awesome brandy snifter for?!).

I use a whole banana because I hate leaving half a banana behind, also because that's where the calories come from, but half a banana would be sufficient too.

And lastly I use 3/4 cup of water (sometimes more or less depending on if it's not blending well).

Then simply blend and enjoy! Especially on hot days like today! (And because today I'm pretending to be a food blogger of course I had to add some garnish!).

Lastly, for those of you giving Sarah and I a hard time about still having our Christmas stocking up, just remember....
