In the past few weeks I've felt overwhelmed. In a good way, but still overwhelmed. My business is doing well, I'm getting new opportunities, I opened my new boudoir studio which has been a fantastic success so far.
But in the midst of it all I'm getting a little lost and losing touch. Somedays I don't know what I've eaten, aside from several shots of espresso... like... 8. It's bad.
I don't do anything for fun. I'm never home. And my quality time with my dog consists of cuddling while I sleep a few hours each night.
And I know that this lifestyle is not healthy, but additionally it's making me a worse me, meaning I don't work as effectively, thereby exacerbating the problem I have of "too little time".
So even though I still feel a bit overwhelmed and have a lot going on I've started creating some new habits to make sure that I'm not gonna break myself. Simple things, like drinking 64 ounces of water a day, being in bed for 8 hours even if I'm not sleeping (but I can't be working on my laptop, ipad, or phone), walking with Sam for 20 minutes each day, eating clean, and what I think has been most important: playing or creating for an hour each day.
This has been so phenomenal for me in just helping to feel rejuvenated and like I get a little time for ME each day. Which as a person who works in a creative capacity this is vital to keeping creating great work.
Yesterday my "playing" was cooking, which I actually really enjoy as long as I don't have to rush.
Today my "playing" was doing a new type of photography for me (one that I always say I don't do because it bores the pants off me... well I guess I was wrong.. it's pretty fun!).
These home decor items are all from Etsy seller 2 Bored Moms 14 and I'm seriously in love with her items! I have her sign in my boudoir studio, and I just may have to grab some of those bottle vases too! Check out my 'playing' from today!
